Master Gardener Memorial Garden
The Memorial Garden is now located behind the Gloucester County Office Building in Clayton. In May 2004 we officially dedicated this living tribute to the memory of our deceased members who graciously contributed their energy to our educational endeavors.
This informal country-style garden is a display of annuals, perennials and shrubs that will attract local butterflies and caterpillars. Wild and cultivated species are grown because butterflies are attracted to both types of plants. The development of the garden, even from its temporary origin at the 4-H Fair in 2003, has evoked curiosity about attracting butterflies that survive in our area. Our members have researched and gained valuable information and knowledge about the plants, butterflies, and other elements that enhance wildlife habitats. Now we would like to share this colorful garden and our knowledge with the public.
